Heading Out!

First Stop: Cong Hoa Xa Hoi Chu Nghia Viet Nam
(which essentially means The Socialist Republic of Vietnam)

Gonna set off at noon tomorrow, for 6 days, to a country with a population of over 90 million, out of which more than 80% do not belief in religion and are at high risk of infectious diseases which includes HIV, Typhoid, Malaria and H5N1. It's the rainy season there, so i wouldn't be surprise if there's an flood or even a typhoon. They hold the Guinness World Record of creating the largest Coffee Cup as well as the most number of Sumo Squats done in an hour (What the freak is a Sumo Squat anyway?). They call their beer "BA BA BA" and their currency the "DONG", which are probably words created by babies.

Google, you prepared me for the worst.

Well... on the bright side, at least tipping is not expected in Vietnam! HAHA!

Oh i kid. XOXO.

It's as though life has it's own rhythm.

Let's do some math shall we?
10 more days to Vietnam.
20 more days to the end of my contract with StarHub.
22 more days to Cambodia.
32 more days to SMU's Freshmen Orientation Camp.
38 more days to SIS's Meta Camp
46 more days to Convocation.
49 more days to the start of school term.

Then Vivace, Freshmen Bash@ Zouk... ...

I lost count.

I can't wait for July to come. Can you? (:

Blogging in the office is a tad more exciting!
I'm such a rebel. HA!

Oh! And i just realised, It's been exactly 5 months since i last posted something here! There's just something about the 25th of every month that i can't explicate... Hmmm...
Oh i kid. XOXO.

Where do you hide your feelings?

In a bottle? In a box? Or in a diary that has a lock?
--- ---

I'm not always a happy person, definitely not the happy-go-lucky sort and at times when i've got this thing i need to get off my chest, i'll look for my dog. Uhm... It's not exactly the smartest idea to talk to your dog about issues especially the kind that requires an appropriate advice in return and trust me on this, the horror of him dozing off midway is just waaaaay too frustrating! Then again, at the very least, i can always trust him to keep my secrets, even the ones you told me not to tell anyone about are with him! HAHA! That goes to show how often i talk to Timmy right?

I used to pen alot of my thoughts on this platform but stopped when i can no longer ignore the fact that people are still refreshing this page. Don't get me wrong, i like the concern and the very fact that people even bother is just pleasing to know. I'm not exactly afraid to share the same conversation i have with Timmy here but for some reason, i find that the stuff i put up here are gradually becoming more... factual. I stopped writing, I merely state. Now, you see why the lack of blog post? I would like to once again write about the thoughts and not the occurrences but would first try and seek comfort into writing opinionated materials. Fret not Timmy! Mummy's still here for you! (:
--- ---

Soooo... Here's one today. One that baffles even the smartest candidate (aka yours truly). One too filled with many complications. One that may just be an error on its own by nature. Work.

Seriously, humans are probably the most OPTIMISTIC creatures in the entire universe. If not, how else would you explain why people are willing to spend their entire life... working? Besides the innate need to work for money to survive, working, in my opinion, is an utter waste of time and i don't say this because i absolutely hate working or that I'm lazy. I mean, logically, if you were to sit and think, don't you think that it's just not rational that we're all constantly working in a period where it's span is uncertain? (See what i said about optimism?) You can work all your life and plan to tour the world when you retire at 50. Yes, you plan for your future and it's great that you're being so... idealistic. YAY! Yay?

But seriously, what worries me the most is that people are IDEALISTIC even when the stats clearly show that most people die of mishaps and guess what? They're mostly UNPLANNED. What happens when you die at 49? Just one more year to that Utopian life you've been waiting for? Worst! You die at work!

Well, life, i must say, is an irony on it's own.

You know how existentialist are forever stressing that the human essence is conformed by the choices we make and if we all choose to work because we have to, then there isn't even an "essence" because by "essence" it means work. Remember when i say that we're all here for a purpose? Question: What if that exact purpose we've been trying so hard to find is to... WORK?

Hmmm...
Maybe it's stated in the bible, the 11th commandment (in fine print of course!). "THOU SHALL WORK DUTIFULLY TILL I DIE."
Just kidding... ((:

Think about what i've said... Don't take me too seriously. As I've said earlier, these are opinionated materials. Mere thoughts coming from a very bored person who happened to be gainfully employed at the moment. Ironic right? HAHA! I can't complain because I want that money. Do i need it? Maybe... But i definitely want that money for some travel plans.

Btw, ever since i started working, there's been this question that constantly haunts me, which happened to inspire me to write what i've just wrote.
"Do i want to spend my entire life like today?"

How about you? Do you like working? Maybe you like working that's why we are in a disagreement. Well then, good luck!

P.S. Want to get away from something? Like a heartache? I'd suggest you WORK. It allows you to lose track of time and it's the best form of distraction. Wala! It's the best remedy if you ever need one.

Arghhh... Someone should really ask me to stop rambling!

Happy CNY folks! See Ya!

A NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION?

Inspirational quotes. Are they really THAT inspirational?
Really? Just saying...
--- ---

You have no idea.
Absolutely no idea how reluctant i am to be writing about my own New Year's...
Sigh.. Resolution?
Usually, I'll be like "Oh, i shall do this this this and change that that that.." but this year, don't know if I've mentioned this, i want it to be extra special.
I'M GONNA BE 20 AND I'M GONNA FULFILL ALL MY NYR!
Woah. TWO ZEROOOOO!!!
I've lived for 2 decades! 2 freaking long decades? Oh no!?!

Kay, so after putting in an extra effort to think about what i aim to achieve this year and double the effort to make sure it's achievable (i wanted to own starbucks, LOL) , may i present to you this:

A NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION: YOU ARE NOT A KID ANYMORE SPECIAL EDITION.
Here goes nothing...
  1. Thou shall be more adventurous.
  2. Thou shall be more punctual.
  3. Thou shall lead a healthier life.
I know, i know. The list up there is rather vague cept for the second one.
So i shall explain.

#1 actually encompasses 2 things I'm trying to get done.
I aim to travel this year and hopefully to somewhere rural or exotic. Not too sure where exactly, but I'll go, somewhere... Also, I'm gonna learn something new. Initially, i wanted to learn a new language and a new instrument but because i'm a little tight on the money part, ill just have to forgo one. Prolly the first one i guess?

#2 is rather obvious and perhaps it's every modern, hand phone carrying, late night partying, YouTube watching human being's problem. PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS LATE! I'm guilty of that too so i hope i can change that. Reckoned that it's a really bad habit and it'll prolly be one of the many reasons your boss decided to sack you in the near future.

#3 is the hardest of all. It's a matter of self discipline which I'm very much lacking in. Definitely have to try and sleep earlier, at least by 11.59pm every night. All the sleeping at 4am and waking up at 2pm is screwing me up. Eye bags and excessive hair fall have to be gone. HAVE TO! MUST! HAHA! Also, I'll try to drink more water everyday. Odd? Ha! I'm gonna try decolourising my pee. LOL! Wanted to include exercising regularly but have decided that it's a little on the "unachievable side" when i officially start working so i shall start from here first... Baby steps yo! Baby steps.

So that wraps it huh? Erm... I guess my resolutions are very achievable if i put an effort into it. Don't count on it yet?!?

Hmmm... Are your resolutions similar to mine?

Oh well... good luck with the new year. If you haven't already had a meaningful life, perhaps you would like to start living one now, just don't regret when it's too late. Trust me, nobody will feel sorry for you if you've wasted your life. Remember, we are all here for a purpose, you just have to find what's yours.

Goodnight. (:

Sometimes... just sometimes... I'd wished i didn't have you as my best friend.
